From Our Executive Director

Cindy Booth, Executive DirectorChild Advocates celebrated our 30th Anniversary in 2012. Since 1982, Child Advocates has represented the best interests of more than 85,000 Marion County children – children who were removed from their homes because of abuse and/or neglect.

Thank you for visiting our website. We are grateful to have the opportunity to share our mission with you. We look forward to working with you in the future to keep the children of Marion county safe from abuse and neglect.

In 2015 we accomplished the following:

  • 8,515 children were provided independent representation in the courtroom
  • 518 volunteers helped represent and protect children who are victims of abuse
  • 194 new volunteers were trained
  • 96,000 hours of service were donated by CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteers

Our supporters enable us to provide independent, child-focused representation to every child in Marion County, who suffered abuse and/or neglect by their parents or guardians.

More specifically, our supporters helped provide a volunteer for the case of three-year-old twins, Devin and Desmund. Our volunteer enabled Devin and Desmund to escape a life of domestic violence, substance abuse, and unsanitary living conditions. The boys were adopted together into a safe and loving home.

Child Advocates needs to recruit and train an additional 100 volunteers in order to continue to provide the quality representation children deserve.

If you’re interested in volunteering just click on the volunteer tab and fill out the application.

If you’d like to learn more about Child Advocates you are welcome to attend one or more of our fun events so you can meet staff and some of the children we represent.

With Sincere Appreciation,
